M.V. Volante is a modern fast Cygnus Cyfish 33 charter vessel, powered by twin, electronically controlled, 225hp Volvo diesel engines and outdrives. Her cruising speed is 14-15 knots. The wheelhouse is fitted out with state of the art electronic equipment including VHF radios, radar, fishfinder, depth sounders, auto pilot and GPS navigation.

Volante carries emergency and safety equipment in excess of requirements, and is fully certificated under the Code of Practice for the Safety of Small Commercial Motor Vessels to COP 3. She also has a Work Boat certificate under the same code of practice, to enable her to operate the evening ferry service between Fionnphort and Iona, and is licensed and insured to carry up to 12 passengers and 2 crew.

To ensure your comfort Volante has a large cabin with ample seating, a warm air heating system, plus a sink and toilet facilities.

Volante is owned and skippered by Gordon MacCormick. Gordon was born on Iona and is the seventh generation of his family to have lived and worked on the island. He is fully qualified and has many years experience of fishing and chartering in the area.
